24 hours a day, around the clock, Le Mans has and will be competing for the title every year. Since 1951, when Porsche took part in this famous race for the first time with two 356/4 SL Coupé cars, there has not been a single race without the sports car manufacturer from Stuttgart.
However, the number 46 car drove in the first race, because the second had suffered irreparable damage from an accident during training.
The start number 46, on the other hand, held out; Porsche became class winner in the group up to 1100 cm3 in its first participation in this prestigious race and achieved a sensational 20th place in the overall classification.
The present is fast, technically upgraded and successful. That was the case with Porsche racing cars in the past. And this, largely very successful past, can be seen in its full range every two years at the Le Mans Classic.
